Today Troy Davis was executed by the state of Georgia.
I won’t get into the all the details. They are here.
What really got me about this article was the quote from the wife of the officer that Troy Davis was convicted of killing. She said:
“I will grieve for the Davis family because now they’re going to understand our pain and our hurt,” she said. “My prayers go out to them. I have been praying to them all these years. And I pray there will be some peace along the way for them.”
Of course, what pissed me off was the first part.
because now they’re going to understand our pain and our hurt
Really? You’re in pain and you hurt, and you’d allow another family to feel that way. You want them to feel that way. You know you could have saved them from feeling that way. That’s fucked up.
I understand killing in revenge, in the heat of the moment. This happened in 1989. That’s fucked up.
