My PC has had many viruses these last…12 years. I can’t count how many times I erased the hard drive and reinstalled all my software and files. Lack of viruses is a major reason I’ve been very happy with this macbook. Now my only problem with this macbook is age. It is getting old.
That’s why I was really excited to upgrade my OS from Leopard to Snow Leopard, for free no less!
Well, I started the update at 6:30pm. By 6:50 the installation had failed. I tried to restart the computer and it wouldn’t boot up. It wouldn’t boot from the install disk. It wouldn’t boot from the hard drive. It wouldn’t boot from my back up drive.
I fought and waited with the macbook until about 9.
That’s when I said, fuck it, I’m erasing the hard drive and restoring it with the back up.
So from 9 to 10:30 I erased the hard drive and from 10:30 to 11:25 I restored my files and settings.
If I hadn’t struggled with the PC for years, I might be a little pissed off. Right now, I’m just glad it works. I can’t afford to buy a new laptop, or to removed from this device during mid-term week.
I’m hoping the crash won’t repeat.
oh! After I restored the hard drive I got greedy and installed the OS upgrade. It worked that time.
